Rabbits, Fairies, & Dwarfs... Oh my!

A number of years back I took a stab at creating a fantasy comic.
The story followed the adventures of POKE & SILVER, a fairy and her rabbit companion, relentlessly pursued by a sect of fanatical druids bent sacrificing the poor rodent ( he's kinda special ).

A whole 13 pages were penciled before I abandoned the project. Since the pages are just lying about getting yellow I felt they might as well serve as blog fodder.

Startled awake by Silver's approach, he tells her of his foreboding dream.
She reassures him then casually dismisses the matter...

Pay attention to your surroundings.

Looking to hire a guide, she is pointed in the direction of the rude and
prurient Harry Calico, and a table of some dwarves.

Later, in Silver and Pokes room

Silver's hair changed several times over the period I drew these pages, because at the time I hadn't settled on her look. Those dreadlock things didn't work for me; most annoying to draw. Inking that spaghetti page after page...nightmare!

Looking back I have to say it probably wasn't bad stuff although at the time I really thought the stuff sucked.

War Phantoms

More from the Mythology stick puppet show. I think they are sufficiantly spooky
for a Halloween-ish post.

Virgo Goddesses

These female gods are the main focus of a segment I worked on for a stick puppet show, created in After Effects. I'm going to attempt to get a clip or two up as soon as I'm up to snuff with all this video encoding/compression business.

Paper Monsters

Well now that this Mythology project is over I have all these cut-out stick puppet guys littering the floor like autumn leaves. I guess I'll follow Zee's lead and rake 'em up and post 'em here. I must say, this was a fun project to be part of.

Celestial Karmic Wheel

This is a last minute additional image that was needed for the Mythology project I've been working on. I'm no Photoshop guru, as can clearly be seen...thank the lords of high speed internet for the existence of all those online tutorials!

artemis, kronos, achilles

Artemis...in the comics she's called Wonder Woman...er , Diana...

Kronos....started out as a Titan. Climbed the ladder to reach God-ness. Those crazy Romans renamed him Saturn. That's today's lesson kiddies!

Achilles. It may be just me, but he kinda reminds me of Brock Sampson...unintentional of course!

Playroom pics

A marvel of organization... it's like kindergarten in here!

Zee hard at work.

Zeus almost there.

Zee with a Bald Eagle.
Zeus, not to be confused with Zee, transformed himself into a grand raptor
so he could pick up chicks. Apparently it worked wonderfully.

Speaking of 'Bald', why is Zee wearing a hat indoors?

Deities springing forth.

deucalion and pyrrha

Well, this is interesting...this guy and his wife were the last ones left in the world after Zeus let a huge flood wipe out all the crap on the planet. Sound familiar? Where's that put Noah and his crew in the scheme of things? Just how OLD is the Old Testament anyway?

earth mother & chauvinist

Apparently at one time we ( human race ) actually held the female in high regard

Men...someone let them start calling the shots and it all went downhill from there...

greeks

These are some roughs of Greco-Roman townsfolk, for a stick puppet show.
Yes, the goat is cross-eyed.

Hot Doggity!!!

In keeping with the current theme of man's best friend, here's a "Hot Dog/ Hairy Sausage/Weiner Hound", to add to the dog run. I got a couple more of these K9 roughs that I'm going to 'vectorize' and post up.

Dog Park Girl

I had this flimsy doodle in my sketchbook and decided to try polish it up a bit with some vectors...the result is not exactly dynamic, but that wasn't my goal so much as exploring the program...Woof! Woof!

Goofbag

Someones' idiot friend...
